Data Diodes facilitate real time, unidirectional information exchange between networks. Many networks require extra protection against manipulation and data leakage as they contain classified or sensitive information. Sometimes they are kept isolated however there are times when certain information has to be sent into, or out of, such networks.  This is where a data diode can ensure security.

Advenica SecuriCDS Data Diodes are one-way information transfer devices that connect two networks of the same or different security levels. The data diodes comprise optical hardware separation to guarantee a unidirectional separation between the two networks.

Data Diode - DD1G Series

DD1G series are pure hardware based data diodes with optical separation to assure
unidirectional data flow.  DD1G series offer high performance and secure data transfer for Ethernet Layer 2 and because of their extremely compact size, are ideal in tight locations such as in wind farms, solar arrays and remote locations.

The DD1G series offers full 1 Gbps data throughput. The series includes stand alone devices and DIN rail mounted devices.  The DD1G series works on Ethernet Layer 2.  All network data on the upstream network will be automatically transferred to the
downstream network regardless of the overlaying network protocol. 

By using a proxy service, the SecuriCDS Data Diode can handle common communication protocols, e.g. file or network time transfers. All services translate the protocols into unidirectional data flows.

The DD1G series withstands modern attack methods by having a multi-layered unidirectional design. At the centre, an optical fibre connection ensures the separation of the two connected networks.   As the DD1G series are pure hardware data diodes
with no configuration required, the risk of having a unintentional faulty configuration is fully mitigated.

Data Diode - SecuriCDS® DD1000A

SecuriCDS DD1000A is a pure hardware based data diode with optical separation to assure unidirectional data flow. DD1000A offers high performance in a small stand alone package mountable in a single 1U 19” rack system.

With unidirectional data flow, the SecuriCDS DD1000A takes data protection to a higher level, offering a powerful solution for efficient, risk-free and assured single direction data transfer between security domains. 

Advenica’s DD1000A provides confidentiality for classified networks and systems, and integrity for Industrial Control Systems.  Typical use cases include: 

     ● Media streaming or CCTV monitoring
     ● Data transfer from ICS/SCADA networks to IT networks
     ● File transfer for data storage replication or software updates
     ● Secure log collection to administrative or audit network
     ● Sensor data transfer from lower classified network to higher classified network

The SecuriCDS DD1000A offers full Gigabit data throughput in a small package.  It can be used as a tabletop device or mounted as a half-width 19” rack system device.  Two SecuriCDS DD1000A devices can be mounted next to each other in a 19’’ rack still with a height of 1U.   Separation of networks often relies on the configuration of a security device, e.g. firewall rules.  However human mistakes or malicious intent risks the security and the assurance of such network separation cannot be guaranteed.

The SecuriCDS DD1000A is designed as hardware only and has no software installed.  It uses optical separation internally to guarantee the unidirectional security function. There is no configuration to be made and therefore the device cannot be misconfigured and the unidirectional security function is always assured.

Data Diode - SecuriCDS® DD1000i

The Advenica SecuriCDS DD1000i is a data diode with hardware based optical separation to assure unidirectional data flow. DD1000i includes proxy services to handle application level protocols and provides an easy integration into any system.  It is designed, tested and produced to meet the highest security requirements.

The SecuriCDS DD1000i takes data protection to a higher level, offering a powerful solution for efficient, risk-free and assured single direction data transfer between open and closed networks. The SecuriCDS DD1000i can handle common communication protocols e.g. FTP/SFTP for file transfers or NTP for network time transfers.  Proxy services translate the protocols into unidirectional dataflows. 

Normally, the use of a data diode requires the interfacing systems to handle the proxy functionality.  With SecuriCDS DD1000i there is no need for such external proxy functions. This reduces both system complexity and total cost of ownership.
